Grammy-winning R&B singer Etta James has been hospitalized for about a week near her Southern California home for treatment of various ailments, including a bloodstream infection, her son said on Friday.

The 72-year-old recording star, best known for her bluesy hit ballad “At Last,” grew ill after entering a detoxification center a month ago for treatment of an addiction to painkillers and over-the-counter medicine, Donto James told Reuters.

As her condition worsened, she was moved to a nursing facility, and then to Riverside Community Hospital, near her home east of Los Angeles, he said.

The performer is being treated for a number of ailments, including sepsis, a potentially fatal infection spread through the bloodstream, which in her case is believed to have started from a urinary tract infection, her son said. *VIA Reuters*

About three weeks ago Beyoncé announced she would be taking a 6 month break. Not sure when it starts, but before she goes she is making sure she does plenty to keep her name relevant! This coming up Sunday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. ET/PT she will be on 60 minutes discussing her rise to the international icon she is today! That same night she will attending the Grammys in which she will also be performing. She xjust filmed a Superbowl commercial for VIZIO a major manufacturer of HDTV’s. Also she is set to film the video for the song Telephone with Lady Gaga and Tyrese, not to mention her worldwide tour hasn’t ended yet.  This girl definitely be on it, she all over everything like white on rice.

The music from the Black Eyed Peas is dope x3000. They always hit us with some funky fresh and tap into shit undone before. Their beats are so damn sick, I love how they sample music from various parts of the world. They definitely have another hit on their hands with this one! Get yo ass up and DANCE!

Chris Brown has one hell of a Valentine’s Day gift in store for his fans this year. He is working on new music and remixes to hits by other artists for his mixtape, entitled In My Zone, hitting the web on February 14. I’m definitely excited about this release, I can’t get enough of him. I think this is good look for Chris, it will allow him to reconnect to his fans and bounce back from the disappointing performance of his latest album.

I was trying to think about who he was tonight. It’s interesting; he is post-racial, by all appearances. I forgot he was black tonight for an hour. He’s gone a long way to become a leader of this country and past so much history in just a year or two. I mean it’s something we don’t even think about. I was watching and I said, wait a minute, he’s an African-American guy in front of a bunch of other white people and there he is, president of the United States, and we’ve completely forgotten that tonight — completely forgotten it. I know this isn’t funny, but I just can’t help laughing when I watch this. This documentary released in 2004 examines sexual abuse inside Alabama’s Limestone Correctional Facility. The long-term causes and conditions that perpetuate prison rape are examined, as well as the use of sex as a commodity, for comfort and for protection from the feared and brutal prison culture. So if yo man has been in prison, chances are that he’s gay or bisexual. Hell I think most dudes done fucked around with another dude anyway. It just never seems to amaze how much people try to profit off of someone’s death. The number of people trying to make a buck Michael Jackson‘s death seems to grow everyday. R. Kelly‘s label Universal Music is suing Michael Jackson’s estate to the tune of $3k because he never paid for the rights to use the song Ignition in this video. So from now on be careful what song you are singing on video before the big bad wolfs come after you to! I just love Michael and I wish all these people would just let him and his name rest in peace!
